No, I never was opponent 'of the Corporation monsters', I have always loved and continue to love the cartoon, just for me it was a story about children's fears, with the obligatory happy ending and only.

Review: Not so long ago, I sharply negative attitude to the creative work of Billy Wilder. I thought that he takes only Comedy, and, in my opinion, quite unsuccessful. My attitude to it has changed radically after the films 'Sansent Boulevard' and 'Apartment' — these movies are for me a revelation, that there is such a Director and that he takes a beautiful film! Thinking more deeply acquainted with his filmografiey, I started with this film.
What to say… Film is really worthy to wear the title of 'missed masterpiece'. Until I saw filmografiyu Wilder — I didn't really know about this movie. And about the actor, as the Holden I, too, knew nothing, but I'm glad that I watched this movie.
What we see: a concentration camp — initially dramatic theme. Here you can show crippled life, 'stiff' prisoners of war, the Germans, who are tortured by all and Sundry… But in this movie, all of this is present only indirectly. Surprisingly, of course, but to me this 'concentration camp' reminded pioneer camp, in which I visited as a child. Compare, of course, these two buildings is illogical, but now there is such an Association with me. Why: because prisoners of war — Americans and English-speaking — to him the Germans have a special relationship. Americans in concentration camps soderajali as in the resort, in contrast to special camps for Russians and Jews. Maybe that was what we wanted to show Wilder, more precisely, he wanted to change the perception of people about the concentration camps. Why are the main characters of the film rejoice and have not lost hope for the salvation of — Yes, because in all situations, they remained, in the first place — people. The actors who played the role of Brute and Shapiro, too, very well pleased. Excellent comedic actors, as it turned out! Otto Preminjer, who performed the role of kommendanta, quite interesting and sometimes eccentric character, too more than good.
In General — excellent film, which is really worth seeing. Absolutely original film! Honestly, I like him in this genre I have not seen.
